I obtained my PhD in 2020 at the University of Liège with a dissertation on the language of Pliny the Elder’s Natural History. My research focused on book II of the encyclopedia (Astronomy), where I applied distant-reading techniques to uncover global linguistic trends in Pliny’s writing. My PhD was funded by an Aspirant grant from the FNRS. During my doctoral studies, I also completed a BA in Mathematics with a minor in Programming, and ,in September 2023, I graduated from the Advanced Master of Artificial Intelligence at KU Leuven. Before starting my PhD in Latin Language and Literature, I earned both my BA and MA in Classics at the University of Pisa and the Scuola Normale Superiore. Prior to my PhD, I spent a year and a half as an intern at the Library of the University of Liège, where I worked on cataloguing medieval manuscripts.Positions and FellowshipsSince October 1st, 2021, I have been serving as Assistant Professor of Digital Humanities at the Faculty of Arts (0.8 FTE). In October 2020, I joined LECTIO (KU Leuven Institute for the Study of the Transmission of Texts, Ideas and Images in Antiquity, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance) as Research Manager for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Humanities.
